30 August ZAR Analysis

Hi there fellow traders, please have a look at the chart below:

Price is dangerously close the support at 7.2780, therefore the sideways red arrow. The red arrow still means the direction of highest probability is bearish for today but wait for price to violate latter mentioned support before making any decisions

Should price move above 7.3820, then the ZAR will be situated within a bullish probability

24 August - Dow Jones Futures Analysis & Levels

Hi fellow traders!

For those who follow and trade index futures, have a look at the chart below:

The green trend (60 minute trend) is bearish today so therefore the direction of highest probability is bearish

The sideways arrow means even though the probability is bearish, price is consolidating so wait for a break to the downside. The break will be confirmed if the 1 Hour Stochastic indicators turns South

Should price violate the 60 minute trend resistance line and thereby become a bullish probability then the Current and Major Trend resistance levels will come into effect

16 August ZAR Analysis

Below follows an analysis using the Probability Study Technique on the South African Rand:

We can derive from the chart above
that:

1) The Major Trend is still bearish
2) The Current Trend is bullish
3) The 60minute trend is bullish

So, for Monday, 16 August 2010 we can expect the ZAR to rise or strengthen. Below follows the level where the bullish context will change as well as significant support and resistance:

The sideways green arrow means price is currently consolidating (but expect a break to the upside)

If price moves below 7.310 then the Direction of Highest Probability will become bearish

What can we expect for the week ahead of EUR/USD?

Hi fellow traders

After Friday the 13th of August we might see the Bucky strengthen against the EUR for quite some time. Here are my reasons:

On the Daily chart above of the EUR/USD we can see how the bearish Major Trend, which lasted for 8 months, has been violated to the upside. Now this violation has not been confirmed....yet

Therefore, price might be making its way down to the violated Major Trend resistance line (now significant support) at around 1.2200. Look at the chart below:

Also, the daily Fishing Stochastic is still what we call a "Strong Bear" so make yourselves ready for shorts on Monday morning in the chat room

See you there

How to do a NZD/USD Probability Study

Hi fellow traders. I thought I'd share with you how to conduct a probability study on the New Zealand Dollar:

Step 1: Open a Daily chart and make sure you can see at least 6 months of data, then draw a trend according to what ever you see on the chart. This will be known as the Major Trend:

Step 2: On a 4 hour chart, identify the Secondary Trend (also known as the Current Trend) which is based on the most active cycle within the Major Trend you just identified:

Step 3: Identify the Minor Trend (60 Minute Trend) by drawing a trend within the Secondary Trend. This can be done on a 4 hour chart or a 1 hour chart. This trend will be based on the most active cycle within the Current Trend

Now that I have identified the 60 minute trend I also have the Direction of Highest Probability for today. For as long as the 60 minute trend remains bullish, the NZD's Probability will be bullish

Step 4: Add the 1 hour Fishing Stochastic to see if you have a trading condition (it must point in the direction of the highest probability)
